Dell XPS 9575 poor audio volume, distortion, and cutting out

Dell XPS 9575 with new Arch (or Manjaro) installation has unreliable audio.  The volume is half of what is expected and frequent distortion, low quality, and no sound occurs with no real errors.  The issue for me at least was the snd_soc_avs module conflicting with the snd_hda_intel module.  Blacklisting the snd_soc_avs module resolved the issue.

In "/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist_snd_soc_avs.conf" put the following and reboot:
