Cannot launch Steam - hyprland

I upgraded the hard drive on my thinkpad and on the fresh install (hyprland) steam suddenly doesn't work. It gives and X error so I'm guessing something broke regarding steam's functionality with Wayland?

xorg-xwayland installed and it's process started? (Should be automatically if the package is installed when hyprland starts)

And make sure you fulfill the "soft dependencies" for steam that are mentioned in: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Steam#Installation

Sorry to bother you, but maybe you've found a solution? I've had the same problem as you. It doesn't seem like a hyprland problem, not even a wayland one.

I thought it was a GPU related problem, but downgrading nvidia drivers (i'm on GeForce MX230) got me nowhere

Apparently reinstalling the whole system fixed the problem for me. Still wondering what the issue was.

Perhaps something is wrong with your gpu drivers, vulkan, or/and linux-headers
