A bit back when updating my system I noticed yay giving me an error that coreutils-uutils, a package that symlinked uutils in place of the GNU coreutils, couldn't be found on the AUR. I tried searching around on this forum to see if there was any info but couldn't find anything.
This doesn't really impact me since I already have the symlinks, but am still curious why the package was deleted.
(Apologies if this is asked in the wrong place. I am not too familiar with the forums)

Maybe because it got moved to extra as uutls-coreutils ?

Those don't seem to be the same. From what I can see, extra/uutils-coreutils installs all the binaries with the prefix "uu-" (e.g. uu-ls), while AUR/coreutils-uutils only had the symlinks without the prefix (e.g. ls -> uu-ls), and in effect fully replaced the GNU coreutils.

No idea what the plan is here, but the obvious solution would be a package conflicting/replacing/providing coreutils that contains the relevant symlinks.
