I am having some trouble starting steam.
Since January 22 I am having some issues with steam (quite confident about that date, since steam is in my autostart and before it only appeared sporadically in the logs).
Steam did not start at all anymore, with the following entry in the journalctl:
Jan 31 12:20:32 nico-arch systemd-coredump[21382]: [?] Process 21187 (steamwebhelper) of user 1000 dumped core.
Stack trace of thread 21332:
#0 0x0000000000000000 n/a (n/a + 0x0)
ELF object binary architecture: AMD x86-64I thought, it may be to mis-configured grafiks, since I am not expirinecing other issues in the system.
I am having an Radeon RX 9070 XT and the ryzen integrated graphics chip.
After disabling the integrated grafics-chip steam fails on first startup, but stating it again works, also the performance is as expected.
The new core-dump seems to originate at linux-gate.so1, so I assume it is a kernel-issue (not sure if I understood the quick read about it that I had correctly)?

ELF object binary architecture: Intel 80386Any ideas what could be the issue?

you are quite a researcher, i must say
but first off back up all ur game saves
__kernel_vsyscall (linux-gate.so.1) does not mean kernel bug see this ->
#4 0x00000000f0d7606b n/a (libdbus-1.so.3 + 0xa06b)
#5 0x00000000f0da1762 _dbus_warn_check_failed (libdbus-1.so.3 + 0x35762)
#6 0x00000000f0da179d _dbus_warn_return_if_fail (libdbus-1.so.3 + 0x3579d)
#7 0x00000000f0d8e5de dbus_message_new_method_call (libdbus-1.so.3 + 0x225de) this means error dbus assertion or put into simple words - steam crashed itself intentionaly
still this aint much to work on but we can try a few thing here, backup saves,
pacman -Rns steamthen delete leftovers (~/.local/share/Steam & ~/.steam) and reinstall
sudo pacman -S steamu could also check for updates
sudo pacman -Syuanother thing u can do is use
STEAM_RUNTIME=0 steam and see if it works (native runtime)
and also try
DRI_PRIME=1 steam(igpu init check)
and try switching to x11 - has better steam support
u could also check on ur dbus
busctl --user statuscheck for missing libraries -
sudo pacman -S lib32-dbus lib32-mesa lib32-libdrm lib32-libx11if it still doesnt work - maybe flatpak steam is the way to go... (this btw)

I see, thanks for the explanation regarding the linux-gate.so.1 and the advice.
Unfortunately the issue is not fixed yet. But also, I can just start the application twice for now.
I tried:
Deleting steam, purging leftovers, reinstalling leftovers (system was up to date)
No Success
Check missing libraries
sudo pacman -S lib32-dbus lib32-mesa lib32-libdrm lib32-libx11All installed --> No Success
STEAM_RUNTIME=0 steamFailed with many errors (steam-native-runtime is not installed)
DRI_PRIME=1 steamNo Sucess
busctl --user statusGives the following output:

xdg-desktop-portal-hyprland
But I think that should not be an issue.

hmm, dbus is good...
u said steam runtime is failing cuz of missing runtime so u could just install it from pacman
sudo pacman -S steam-native-runtimenow try with steam native runtime, if it works the steam install is broken
STEAM_RUNTIME=0 steammultiple portals is usually fine, but waylands kinda homeless, so check which one's active (should be ur de/wm; if you ARE on wayland i still recommend running on x11). if u feel like portals are the problem then u could just pacman -Rns the unused ones.
lets try gpu, try disabling gpu compositing
steam --disable-gpu --disable-gpu-compositingtheres one thing that could provide a lotta inspo (run this right after a failed steam launch)
journalctl --user -xe | grep -i dbusdouble launching means that it needs time to init or smth - i dont really know about that im not a steam expert, but tryna help the people best i can

Thanks for the input, appreciate it!
Unfortunately, steam-native-runtime is not in the official repo, but only available via AUR.
Since the dependencies that come with it, are too complicated for me to fully understand, I would like to avoid installing it
.
using
steam --disable-gpu --disable-gpu-compositingdoes not fix the issue.
the output of
journalctl --user -xe | grep -i dbusis:
