hello gamers
been using arch as a pleb for a good 4 years now and managed to get by with the RTFM mindset but im stuck with this issue and cant find a solution
i use tuta as desktop email and have been using protonpass in my browser for a while, tried to install the desktop version for offline access, but they dont like eachother much apparently
ive tried it a couple times and it either straightup doesnt work or if it does it crashes both programs and makes my notebook sweat until either is uninstalled
error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)

thats all the info i get after a failed install via the aur
tried all 3 versions of pass the normal-bin and git and they all want the same file that tuta already owns
it works perfectly fine if i remove tuta desktop and install pass
any help would be appreciated
godspeed

Do you need the debug packages? If not, don't install them. Maybe consider disabling them by default if you insist on using an AUR Helper that installs them by default.

Heya, thanks. Removing the debug stuff did the trick.
For future reference:
couldnt figure out yay so i did it directly in pacman conf:
sudo nano /etc/pacman.conf
uncomment & add "*-debug" to "IgnorePkg"
IgnorePkg = *-debug
and then i just removed all the debug stuff with "rm -r" because i dont have any use for it anyways, that part could probably be done smarter tho
sudo rm -r /usr/lib/debug/

instead of doing that just add a ! to debug in your makepkg.conf
