[NVIDIA 580.95.05] System crashes when connecting external monitor

After the 580.95 update, having an external monitor connected resulted in a TTY freeze, not even letting me log in (on all kernels: Linux, Zen, LTS).
If I instead logged in without an external monitor and only connected the monitor while inside Hyprland I get pushed back to the TTY, the monitor doesn't connect, and I get this log: https://imgur.com/a/output-of-journalct … ce-bFXftWb.

The only way I was able to fix this issue was by reverting the following updates:

[ALPM] upgraded nvidia-utils (580.82.09-1 -> 580.95.05-1)
[ALPM] upgraded lib32-nvidia-utils (580.82.09-1 -> 580.95.05-1)
[ALPM] upgraded nvidia-open-dkms (580.82.09-1 -> 580.95.05-1)
[ALPM] upgraded nvidia-settings (580.82.09-1 -> 580.95.05-1)

Specs:
- Laptop: LENOVO Legion 5 15ACH6H
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Mobile
- External monitor: LG Electronics LG ULTRAGEAR+

I have created a post about this on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/archlinux/comm … al_monitor.

And I have also opened a bug on NVIDIA, but so far they haven't even confirmed it's a driver's bug: https://developer.nvidia.com/bugs/5573778.

Just looking to see whether someone else is experiencing this and if this is actually an NVIDIA bug, or specific to my laptop or monitor, etc.

EDIT: I should mention that the issue remains in every driver released since the one mentioned above, the latest one I've tried is the 590.48.01.

Re: [NVIDIA 580.95.05] System crashes when connecting external monitor

Is there a reason you are not using the current 590 drivers? Your GPU isn't part of the cutoff point . And the driver range you're talking about would be outdated for nvidia 580 as well. we're at 580.126.18

So according to this and the timestamp of your reddit post you are multiple versions out of date here.

Sorry, I should've updated the log, I have indeed been trying every single new driver release since (you can see my comments in the NVIDIA bug post).
I have tried the latest 590.48.01 driver and nothing has changed.
