maim is unable to take clean screenshots of mpv window

Im using `maim` for screenshots on dwm(X11), I dont know if its the X11 fault or mpv, but screenshotting any mpv window(even when the video is paused) sometimes creates traces of the frame created by maim which persist in the screenshot itself.
Script used:

maim --select | xclip -selection clipboard -target image/png

A screen recording of me demonstrating the problem
In the video, I was confused at first when the first screenshot came perfectly fine, but then the second one was totally messed up.
I couldn't find anything related to it on the internet.

Not exactly an answer to what you asked. Mpv will take its own screenshots with the s key.
