Hi there. I've been playing with ArchLinux for about 3 weeks now, and so far, everything is hunky dory.
Unfortunately, I got a weird problem:
gqview and xscreensaver don't have text in any of their buttons, menu items.. etc.
All the buttons are there and the programs DO work, but it's really difficult as I don't know what I'm clicking on
I did "pacman -S" on both of them, and "pacman -Syu". I even used abs to compile a custom gqview but the problem is still there.
If anyone can point me in the right direction on what to do, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

try pacman -R <package> then try to reinstall them....

Thanks for the quick reply, Green..
5 minutes after my initial post, I realized that I didn't really run the apps from the command line, so I did.
Lo and behold, there was error messages complaining about something called "Pango".
So I just "pacman -S pango", and now everything works fine.
Baa....
(Same problem also with The Gimp: now no worries)

sounds like something to file a bug about. with normal dependency solving you should be able to run any package. in this case the dependency chain is broken somewhere (or pango is broken again)
