I've got a mythtv setup with an LCD screen for the computer and a CRT style TV for tv. I've got tv out working fine, but cannot figure out why my LCD goes blank (and goes into standby) whenever I start X. I know it's in my xorg.conf file, but having read a bunch and experimented a bit, I find that I have too much information, and can't sort it out.
I have an Nvidia GS-7600 card, with the tv connected to the svideo out.
Ideally, I'd like to be able to use the displays separately, but if that isn't possible, I'd like to clone them. For whatever reason, I can't seem to get a resolution on the tv that allows me to read menus, etc in KDE; everything there is blurry. For watching video, it's fine.
Does anyone have an xorg.conf that works for this, or point me in the right direction? I've found a couple of resources that deal with just one section of the xorg.conf file, but using that info hasn't worked so I am assuming I've done something wrong in a different section.

I'm assuming that your MythTV menus are clear....I don't think you're going to get sharp fonts in KDE using svideo input. The resolution will be too low for that. At least that's the conclusion I came to with svideo and a RPTV. You'd need to use component, hdmi, vga hookups for crisp fonts on a tv.

Yes, the Mythtv fonts are large enough to be clear. I figured the tv might not give me a clear view for any number of reasons. If I could get a display to my LCD, that would handle that problem. X doesn't display at all on the LCD.
