pacman3 depends on fakeroot ??

Hi.

I'm using pacman3 but I'm not planning to build packages on some comps.
Fakeroot is needed only in order to build packages, so why is it required by pacman3 ??

Should a warning during pacman install or a split of pacman in pacman and thing related to makepkg be good ?

Re: pacman3 depends on fakeroot ??

makepkg tries, at this point, to force fakeroot (normal user) usage.  In the future, this may become required.  Thus the dependency on fakeroot.

pacman ships with the utilities it ships with.  makepkg is considered and integral part of the pacman suite, and is not a separate utility.  You are, of course, welcome to split the package yourself, but pacman has always contained makepkg and abs, and I don't plan on changing this.

fakeroot itself clocks in at under 80K uncompressed.  It can't be much of a pain - I'm sure there are many things installed that you don't use and take up much more space (gcc, for example).
