psychonauts - exit status 1I edited the file /etc/makepkg.conf but I don't understand what I'm supposed to do there.
Sorry for my inexperience.
Please, I really need to at least see the game in order to complete an assignment.
Thank you so much for helping if you can.

Did you read the PKGBUILD like the output says to?

I'm not a package manager and I don't understand what should I do when I read the PKGBUILD.
I'm beyond of any help, am I not?
Offline
Well step 1: do you own the game? If so, do you know how to download it?

sorry to interfere, any reason not using steam? if you don't own the game on Humble Bundle, stop trying to use yay -S psychonauts, it’s a dead end, switch to steam, and you'll have the game running in minutes... ![]()

Is the game free to play on Steam?
(I'm not allowed to use debit/credit cards.)

Nope. Psychonauts isn’t free on Steam unfortunately, also the AUR package you tried doesn’t include the game I mean like it expects you to already own and download the game files manually... if you can’t buy it, you won’t be able to install it that way either
maybe check if a friend can share via Steam Family Sharing? or look for legal && free alternatives for your assignment
Edit:
wait, why is the assignment playing a game? don't get me wrong, if you just need to analyze the story, art style, or mechanics, "Longplay" videos on YT or otherplatform might help you,
if you have cash, you can buy a physical Steam gift card at many retail stores and redeem it
