[SOLVED] `No internet in QEMU-KVM virtual machine

I've never really had to deal with networking since I got Ethernet, I don't even have something like NetworkManger or iwctl installed. I set up QEMU-KVM a while ago to screw around with but could never figure out how to get internet or even what the problem was, and I've really tried. I've gone through the Arch and KVM wikis and everything but I honestly didn't understand a lot of what I was reading. Could someone help me troubleshoot this?

edit: i have no clue what fixed it but its fixed ???

I don't know if this changes much but I figured out that I can still access my local network through the VM, but still not the internet.

Re: [SOLVED] `No internet in QEMU-KVM virtual machine

let's start by how you have setup your host network config
then the usual two options are either NAT or bridge - which to use somewhat depends on your use case - as in: what you want to do with your VMs (you're usually to run both simultaneously)
