I'm a software engineer and work predominantly on a Macbook within IntelliJ. At home, I have a desktop computer running Arch with Hyprland and hy3.
I've become pretty adept at the shortcut patterns offered within Mac, particularly with the Command key functioning as Copy / Paste and it is used extensively within IntelliJ for various shortcuts.
To put it simply I want to completely replicate the Mac keybindings to my Linux desktop where all apps and terminals will behave as they do on a Mac. It's becoming impossible to maintain the various keyboard shortcuts for Mac IntelliJ and Linux Intellij.
One of the main struggles is a keybinding overlap in Hyprland. I'm trying to preserve the Super key for macOS-style 'Command' functionality, but it's currently tied to my Hyprland modifier. I've had trouble switching the modifier to a custom keycode or successfully isolating it to just the Super_L or Super_R key.
My other consideration is what's the best approach to take for the remapping.
I've tried Toshi and found it super clunky.
The other approaches I've come across are `keyd` or using custom QMK mappings on the mechanical keyboard. I haven't tried either approach yet.
What are people's thoughts?
