Nvidia packages

So currently i have nvidia-open as my main nvidia package but it doesnt include nvidia-settings only the default nvidia package contains nvidia-settings, so im wondering can i have both installed or will it break something?

nvidia-settings as the application is compatible with many versions of the driver, there's no explicit distinction  here. So yes you can use nvidia-settings without it being explicitly for "nvidia-open"

so i can use both packages 'nvidia' and 'nvidia-open' thank you, edit i just realised nvidia settings is a package of its own, i thought it was within a different package, thank you anyways

There is no 'nvidia' package any more. The nvidia-settings binary is in the 'nvidia-settings' package. AFAIK it always has been.
