Hi everyone,
Issue:
After a recent system update (sudo pacman -Syu), I am experiencing graphical artifacts.
Interestingly, the issue is not global; it specifically manifests as heavy vertical
striping and color distortion only when displaying images (e.g., using image viewers)
and within the Kitty terminal emulator. Other parts of the desktop environment and
system UI appear to be unaffected.
Environment:
CPU/iGPU: Intel Core i3 2350m / Intel HD Graphics 3000
Kernel: 7.0.10-arch1-1
Desktop Environment: GNOME 50
Graphics driver:
local/glu 9.0.3-3 - Mesa OpenGL utility library
local/mesa 1:26.1.1-2 - Open-source OpenGL drivers
local/mesa-utils 9.0.0-7 - Essential Mesa utilitiesWhat I've tried:
Checked TTY (Ctrl+Alt+F3), the issue persists/the issue is gone
I suspect this might be related to the recent update of the kernel or mesa, but I am not sure how to debug this further. Any advice on how to identify the faulty package or fix this would be greatly appreciated.
I've attached multiple screenshots showing the graphical artifacts occurring after the update.

switch from mesa to mesa-amber and somehow fixed

Means you switched from crocus to i965 but more importantly simply skipped the latest (apaprently bogus) update because mesa-amber is from 2024-01-01
