[SOLVED] nvidia-open 610.43 breaks tty with nvidia_drm.fbdev=0

Is this by design. All previous posts have suggested:

nvidia_drm.modeset=1 nvidia_drm.fbdev=0

With that now, tty screens go to "no signal". Changing to:

nvidia_drm.modeset=1 nvidia_drm.fbdev=1

Fixes the issue. Is this a bug, or a new design choice?

NB. The desktop works just fine (on TTY1). It's TTY2 - TTY7 that exhibit this behaviour.

nvidia_drm.fbdev=1 is necessary to take over from the simplydumb device, fbdev early on had quite some problems but is default and generally intended to be used (now)

OK, thank you. I hadn't realised that there was a change of default. I'll mark as solved, since I'd fixed it anyway purely by chance.
