[SOLVED] Weird video artifacts at 144 Hz with NVIDIA open driver

Hi,

I have an issue where setting my main display to 144 Hz causes weird graphical artifacts on the screen.
When I lower the refresh rate to 100 Hz, the artifacts disappear completely.

What I have tried so far:

    Reinstalled the NVIDIA drivers

    Fully updated the system and rebooted multiple times

    Followed the steps from this post:

    Tested different DP ports

    Disabled and re‑enabled hardware acceleration in the browser and media players

My setup:

    Kernel: 7.0.10-zen1-1-zen

    GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER

    Desktop environment: KDE Plasma 6.6.5

    Session: Wayland (KWin)

    Driver: nvidia-open-dkms 610.43.02-2

    Monitors:

        Main: Ultrawide 3440x1400 144 Hz (artifacts at 144 Hz, OK at 100 Hz)

        Secondary: FullHD 1920x1080 75 Hz (no artifacts)

Can you quantify "weird" (ie. link a picture/video or so)?
Do you get the same w/ plasma/X11?

You'd sit between HBR2 and HBR3 but maybe this is a VRR issue (edid will tell)

So kwin deems the XMI output VRR incapable but  3440x1440@144Hz also exceeds the 600MHz limit (so seems a VRR thing) - can you re-enable VRR?

2560x1080@144Hz stable
3440x1440@120Hz unstable

VRR on ultrawide is not avalible, only on secondary display and this change nothing when I turned on.

I tested on windows same issue, changed cable solved problem. So cables probably is broken.
