ARCH freezes

After working for about an hour on this machine, sometimes I get a freeze where I can move the mouse, but I get no response from the machine.  Thought the problem had been fixed when I migrated to KDEmod, but not so.  I then switched back to KDE, thinking the problem might be fixed but still it freezes up.  I don't think its hardware because I run Windows on the same machine and I have never had Windows randomly freeze up.  I run Beryl.  Any help at all would be great.

Re: ARCH freezes

I know that Beryl can be a bit tricky and that makes me wonder if the problem in on that side.
I run KDE in all my Arch systems and **never** have an issue with it freezing.
Perhaps, a way to troubleshoot the problem would be to remove/disable Beryl and see if the problem goes away.
BTW, what hardware do you have?

Re: ARCH freezes

Well I'm currently running KDE without Beryl and so far so good.  Using Swiftfox, creating DVD image with DeVeDe, Konqeror, and creating a document in Open Office all at the same time and so far no problems.  I have:

Pentium D 805 (Not OC'd)
Artic Freezer 7 pro Heatsink
1 gig RAM
500 watt psu
Nvidea Geforce 6600

Do you use Beryl?
