Issues with sound on Intel audio card

On my laptop (a Chinese no-name) with an Intel J4125, there is no sound on the speakers. If you connect headphones, the sound goes to the speakers. If you connect HDMI, there will be no sound anywhere except HDMI, and it is not possible to change from HDMI to headphones or from headphones to speakers.

Usually the problem is just having audio muted.
