I don't think the nvidia installer installs some dkms at all, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XY_problem ?
To clean up dkms residuals, see https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Dynami … ve_modules (last sentence) and iirc the nvidia installer has a removal feature.

I've deleted /usr/src/ nvidia driver folder
