Gnome: printscreen updates

Hello,

It seems gnome has updated the printscreen function to a prompt that requires input from a user.

I have a problem with this. It requires user input and so it doesn't really take instant screenshots anymore.

Take for instance, you're watching a video, but would like to capture an image from the play, gnome will pause instead and require you for input. In the meantime, the video is still playing in the background and the image that will eventually get printed after you input is a different image that you intended - heh

Is there any way to take instant screenshots on gnome anymore? Maybe there's some possible settings somewhere?

Re: Gnome: printscreen updates

GNOME has 3 functions which by default are assigned as follows:

  • Take a screenshot interactively = Print

  • Take a screenshot = Shift + Print

  • Take a screenshot of a window = Alt+Print

If you don't have a "Print" key (e.g. on a 75% keyboard) then you can assign these in GNOME settings -> keyboard -> keyboard shortcuts.

Re: Gnome: printscreen updates

So, the *function* key doesn't work anymore?

Or, rather, someone BROKE the function key?
