I have a Schiit Modi 3/Magni combo and a Focusrite Scarlett into a hardware mixer with a stereo speaker and headphone output. Some time today, I walked away from my computer (working normally) and some time after I came back to it I noticed an issue where unmuting a Twitch stream would cause the video to pause while not receiving any audio output. I updated and rebooted my system thinking Firefox was doing Firefox things and this did not resolve any of the issues. After the update and reboot (which took a while due to some rsync hangs that took some time for the reboot to kill), I had the same issue in Firefox on Twitch and also that Youtube videos would start for one or two seconds and then immediately pause. Some time after I noticed that I did not have Easy Effects open, launched it, and found that I could now play Twitch and Youtube videos normally, just without sound. Shortly after I found that out, I checked the audio from my Scarlett via Reaper DAW and that works normally.
I'm fairly certain that there's nothing wrong with the mixer or the speakers and headphones. I am unsure if the Magni has any issues, but given the nature of some of the things happening, I suspect that something has gone wrong with the Modi and how it's interfacing with my system.
What would be the next steps to troubleshoot here?

I have done nothing and suddenly it works. I rebooted for shits and giggles, login, previous Firefox session opens, I test a few windows and forget to stop the audio in a video I had planned on finishing later. I got on my phone for about 18 minutes and suddenly I hear the video I had planned on watching later (when the audio was working) at about 18:00 in. I apologize to my computer for stating that I wanted to build a new one. Without you, none of this would have been possible.
