Help Capture Card not detected by Blackmagic Desktop Video setup

I'm trying to install Blackmagic Desktop Video so I can get my Intensity capture card but I'm having some issues.

As far as I can tell, I'm using the correct version of the packet (the one contained in the desktopvideo-16.4a1-x86_64 folder), but when I launch the setup I just get a message saying "No Desktop Video Device Detected. Please check that your product is connected via Thunderbolt, USB3, or PCIe and is powered on".

When I use lspci in terminal, I see 05:00.0 Multimedia video controller: Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro 4K listed, so the card does seem to be connected properly and is detected by the system, just not the software setup.

I found this thread with the same issue that suggested a solution of adding ibt=off to the kernel parameter, which solved the issue in that case but doesn't seem to have done so for me.

Not certain what other info might be needed to help here but I'm of course using Arch, with kernel 6.18.51-1-lts.

Quick edit:
It ocurred to me I should test if the inclusion of ibt=off had worked properly and typing

zcat /proc/config | grep IBT

into terminal results in this

CONFIG_CC_HAS_IBT=y
CONFIG_X86_KERNEL_IBT=y
CONFIG_BT_HCIBTUSB=m
CONFIG_BT_HCIBTUSB_AUTOSUSPEND=y
CONFIG_BT_HCIBTUSB_POLL_SYNC=y
CONFIG_BT_HCIBTUSB_BCM=y
CONFIG_BT_HCIBTUSB_MTK=y
CONFIG_BT_HCIBTUSB_RTL=y
CONFIG_BT_HCIBTSDIO=m
CONFIG_BT_HCIBT3C=m

So it would appear that it didn't work, and that may be the source of the problem, though I'm not also uncertain how to fix that if it is indeed the problem.

Re: Help Capture Card not detected by Blackmagic Desktop Video setup

Some devices can't be detected by non-root users due to the linux permission. Add you user to the "render" and "video" group and try again.

archlinux # gpasswd -a <username> video
archlinux # gpasswd -a <username> render

You may need to create a udev rules file for your video card device can be detected by normal user. Follow this link for more information: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Udev

Please post the output of `lspci -nnk` for the device as that will show related kernel modules and if one is in use for the device.

Adding the passwords doesn't seem to have helped any, I'm still working on the udev rules, it's taking a bit of learning to get my head around that one.

I used

◄ 0s ◎ lspci -nnk | grep -i blackmagic

and got this result!

05:00.0 Multimedia video controller [0400]: Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro 4K [bdbd:a139]
	Subsystem: Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro 4K [bdbd:a139]

That doesn't tell us what kernel module is used for the device.

Please post the full output of

$ lspci -nnk

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky
