This took some effort and I wanted to record it for my own recollection and perhaps it may help others.
My installation of KDE Plasma results in a DE so barren it couldn't be used to add to itself in the default state. This was my first time using the CTRL+ALT+F3 shortcut to drop to command line. This made me happy in a Windows 95 nostalgic way I didn't know I needed.
Using pacman, KDE packages can be installed in partial groups. When a group is requested, pacman offers a numbered list to pick some of the components with a comma delimiter, or defaults to all in the group. If the answer is none, the prompt responds normally to the normal interrupt CTRL+C.
