[Solved] Netflix doesn't render in Google Chrome with hardware acc

As the message says, Google Chrome (proprietary) doesn't render Netflix videos if hardware acceleration is turned on. The video runs with audio but stream is completely blank. Runs okay if acceleration is off but of course it's poor performance.
I have an NVIDIA discreet graphics and it seems the problem could be with it. My laptop doesn't have the same issue.
Any help? Would a clean reinstall of chrome deleting all the cache and configuration help? Am I missing some kind of configuration?
Running on KDE Wayland.

Re: [Solved] Netflix doesn't render in Google Chrome with hardware acc

I am also wayland+nvidia and had the same problem with a different but still chromium-based browser (brave-origin). This can be fixed by a launch flag --ozone-platform=x11 or --use-gl=egl but they are either slightly buggy with UI (the former) or interfere with other websites' functionalities (the latter). Firefox seems to work fine though.

--enable-features=VaapiOnNvidiaGPUs seems make the auto-previews on netflix website work, but not the actual main playback once you play the title.

Digging around on the internet a bit, https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/57885 might be the same issue and the workaround --disable-gpu-memory-buffer-video-frames also seems to work.

Indeed it works. Thanks for the lead.
