abb-agent — Synology Active Backup for Business agent for Arch (btrfs)

The official Active Backup for Business Linux agent needs a kernel module that lags behind new kernels, and it does not back up btrfs. I wrote an unofficial agent in Rust that talks to an unmodified ABB server instead:

no kernel module: works on any distro and kernel (7.x too)
btrfs first-class: read-only snapshots, only blocks in use, every block verified against the btrfs checksums, subvolumes you can leave out; ext2/3/4 too, mounted or not
fast incrementals (about 30 s for a 1 TB desktop)
the device appears in the ABB console like any physical server; schedule, retention, bandwidth limits and scripts work as usual
bare-metal restore with Synology's recovery media or with abb-restore, a static binary with a text UI that runs from any live USB

AUR packages abb-agent / abb-agent-bin, release binaries for other distros.

Not affiliated with Synology. It is young: try it on a machine you can afford to test, and issues are welcome.
