Need help and guidance with my SSD and partition

Hello and thanks for any guidance in advance.

My problem is this sudden crash in which my PC suddenly freezes up, then in about a minute after the screen goes black, and then i get the following on my screen;

[14038.461843] BTRFS critical (device nvme0n1p2 state EA): emergency shutdown
[14038.726838] BTRFS error (device nvme0n1p2 state EA): error loading props for ino 5949343 (root 256): -5
[14038.728500] BTRFS error (device nvme0n1p2 state EA): error loading props for ino 6501604 (root 256): -5
[14038.835480] BTRFS error (device nvme0n1p2 state EA): error loading props for ino 183351 (root 256): -5
[14042.981953] BTRFS error (device nvme0n1p2 state EA): bdev <missing disk> errs: wr 149, 13588, flush 0, corrupt 0, gen 0
[14042.982068] BTRFS error (device nvme0n1p2 state EA): bdev <missing disk> errs: wr 149, 13589, flush 0, corrupt 0, gen 0
[14042.982068] BTRFS error (device nvme0n1p2 state EA): bdev <missing disk> errs: wr 149, 13589, flush 0, corrupt 0, gen 0

And then this just continues.

Systemd fails to start the login session, when i try to enter the tty so it was necessary to do a hard reset.

After the restart, my PC seems to be running fine with no issues that can find on the surface, but I've had this issue before and I want to never have again.

My questions are;

    Have I a made some (to everyone other than me) obvious mistake when I made my partition.

    Is this a common issue with BTRFS (I've seen some criticism of the fs)

    Or is my SSD F'ed up and needs replacing

    And most important what should I do to fix it (I really love learning about arch and tech stuff in general but I don't understand filesystems very well)

My PC spec:

    CPU - AMD Ryzen 9 5900X

    GPU - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 12gigabyte VRAM LHR

    RAM - Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200Hz C16 BK DC - 32GB

    SSD - Samsung 990 Pro SSD - 4TB

    Motherboard - Asus Rog Crosshair VIII hero

    Desktop Envirment - KDE plasma 6.8.2

Note: I don't get this crash often, in fact I've gotten it 4 times so far, first I just thought I needed to update something but I've only one started to get worried enough to ask for help, I know very little about filesystems and SSDs.

If I forgot to include anything important please tell me so I can correct my mistake, and again thanks so much for any guidance or help in advance, I hope your day goes great ^^

Re: Need help and guidance with my SSD and partition

bdev <missing disk>

nb. that SSD typically refers to a SATA device, you're using an nvme
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Solid_ … leshooting
Might also be https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Power_ … Management (try "pcie_aspm=off")

The problem is likely the device (disk) - not necessarily the cell integrity (though do check https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Solid_ … NVMe#SMART ) but it falling off the bus.
Are there error messages visible ahead of the btrfs noise?
If this happens more frequently, try to keep "dmesg -W" running in some window so you can hopefully spot what's wrong during the freeze and before your GUI crashes…
