startkde, unable to open display

hi

with normal and root user, if i do: startkde

i get:

xsetroot: unable to open display''
xset: unable to open display

if i start kdm with root user... no problem

any idea?

Put

exec startkde

in your $HOME/.xinitrc and run startx.
