Hello.
I've just tried to install some packages but they seem to cause random segmentation faults on pacman.
I mostly could install the packages anyway after issuing pacman -Scc and trying to install them again so I cannot reproduce the error.
When trying to install blender (+ its dependencies) I get this error every time I try to install it. Even pacman -Scc and reinstalling seems not to work:
# pacman -S blender

Please submit a full bug report, with the given package if appropriate.
But I think this is not enough information for a bug report, isn't it?
How can I provide more information?
As a matter of completeness:
I am using arch 86_64 and this mirror:
ftp://ftp.tu-chemnitz.de/pub/linux/suns … /os/x86_64

As i know, pacman has a logfile now, located in /var/log/pacman.log. Maybe you need to enable debugging for proper information.

It might help if you run pacman with --debug and LANG=en_EN.utf8:
"LANG=en_EN.utf8 pacman --debug -S blender"

Thanks! I finally got this:
Debug output from pacman:
echo "Y" | LANG=en_EN.utf8 pacman --debug -S blender &> debug
The log file says nothing about the installation of blender.
Well... I think the debug output isn't enough as well.
Any further advices? (:

Try a different mirror, perhaps, although this will need further investigation.
By the way, en_EN won't be valid, but you can just use LANG=C for the same result.

This still looks like the good old SIGPIPE issue. For completeness, what version of libdownload do you have?

maybe a problem with libdownload?
Looks like it dumps right after connecting to the ftp site.

My libdownload version is 1.1-1.
I just used another server and now it seems to work fine. Though this should be fixed. If I can help providing further information, please let me know.
