Environment Install Stalls [SOLVED]

After a clean install of 0.8 I am unable to install KDE or Gnome.  The install will start, but eventually stall.  I have used multiple mirrors in the US...but all still stall.

Here are the commands I use to attempt the install (after pacman -Syu):

for kde:  pacman -S kde
for gnome:  pacman -S gnome gnome-extra

Am I doing something wrong?

[SOLVED]:::::

I changed my primary mirror from ftp to http

Server = http://mirror.cs.vt.edu/pub/ArchLinux/...

All downloads went lickity-split after that.
