Two font-related questions

Hi all, this is my first time here so don't be to rough on me wink. Here we go:

1) How to change the default widget font for GTK based applications, primarily Firefox, GVim and TuxCommander? I want to change the font used in menus, button labels, etc, to Tahoma (yes, I've got it installed and showing in fc-list). Now I know I could do this using some gnome-font-something-thingy, but I don't have Gnome, and would like it to remain like that wink. What file do I have to edit to do this?

2) I'm using rxvt-unicode as my terminal, with Terminus font, and some applications can't show the bold version of the font (Midnight Commander for example), while my ZSH prompt shows bold fonts without a problem. Is there a way to fix this? I tried XFCe Terminal, and the bold version there works in all console applications, but I'd rather use urxvt. This is the relevant part of my .Xdefaults:

URxvt*font: xft:Terminus:pixelsize=14:
URxvt*boldFont: xft:Terminus:bold:pixelsize=14:

Re: Two font-related questions

You can edit your .gtkrc-2.0 file in your home an add:

style "myfont" {
  font_name = "Tahoma 12"
}
class "*" style "myfont"

this should do the trick

Unfortunately, this doesn't work for me sad. Googling some more I found this

gtk-font-name="Tahoma 8"

So far it works smile.
