computer initiated bluetooth pairing [solved]

well, I've got this bt mouse, and I want to pair it with my lappy which has bluetooth integrated. the problem arises with the mouse because, obviously, I can't initiate pairing from it, but that would be true for any other such device: keyboard, headset, etc... I circled round in man pages of bluez utils, without luck...

first, facts:
- pairing works if initiated from the device (tested with my w850i phone)
- 'hcitool scan' gives me the mouse
- 'sdptool browse' gives me the mouse services, which include HID

now, question:
how do I initiate pairing from the computer, given that I'm using a pure gnome system? (IIRC under kde I'd browse the device with konq, which would pop up computer initiated pairing request, but no more kde now).

To know recursion, you must first know recursion.

Re: computer initiated bluetooth pairing [solved]

okay, found it!

0. make sure hidd is started
1. put mouse in discoverable mode
2. 'hcitool scan' to retrieve bt device address
3. hidd --connect fo:ob:ar:ba:zb:am

easy as pie in the end, but really, it was not obvious I should use the daemon to pair...
