I decided to set up Beryl, and I'm really liking it. Though, the first thing to happen when I launch it is the gnome buttons disappear I believe they're provided through Metacity, and I can't seem to set them up with Beryl's options, anyone know of anything I could do? Currently, when I'm running Beryl, I can't access the buttons (close, maximize, minimize).

Beryl is just a composition manager.
The windows borders are managed by either emerald or heliodor or even aquamarine.
I believe that there is a problem when loading emerald or heliodor, so I suggest that you verify one at least is installed and that you launch beryl from a console to see debug output. (just lauch a GNOME/KDE/... session without beryl, open a user console and type beryl).
