runnig counter-strike with wine

Hi,
today I installed arch.. and I really love it =)
but now I got a problem and don't know how to handle it:

I installed Steam using the linux-gamers howto (http://www.linux-gamers.net/modules/wiw … OWTO+Steam) like I did before on ubuntu. installation worked fine, steam itself is running well, but if i try to start counter-strike, my computer freezes and I have to hard reboot it.

So I logged the output of wine (wine Steam.exe > cs.log 2>&1) to catch the freeze-causing error and got the following errors:

This sound card's driver does not support direct access
The (slower) DirectSound HEL mode will be used instead.

err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x7e48da60 "x11drv_main.c: X11DRV_CritSection" wait timed out in thread 0009, blocked by 0017, retrying (60 sec)

Every error-message shown above appears pretty often, but the last one just appears one time, at the end of my log-file.
So IMHO, the "err:ntdll"-thing is the cause of death.

I also tried various winecfg-settings: different sound-drivers, other video-settings, but but the error remained. Google also couldn't help me.. that's why i'm asking here.

Yes:
- my system is up to date
- i'm using the current wine-version from repo
- video drivers are installed (ati-fglrx)
- glxinfo | grep direct

I can't play it with normal wine too. I'm using crossover office for this atm. But it's not for free.
