Network adapter not working

Hi,

This has been quite a confusing few days with this network adapter. It's a Realtek 8139C based card, but for some reason Arch refuses to get it to work with either 8139cp or 8139too modules.
Both have been added to rc.conf modules list (independently and together) & I've tried blacklisting one then the other but eth0 still doesn't show up in ifconfig.  Even with 8139cp blacklisted, at boot I still get a message about that module telling me to try 8139too instead.  I also get a message saying: "PCI: Unable to reserve I/O region #1:100@de00" and that something fails with error -16.
So far, the only way I've managed to get the card working is during install and getting the setup program to probe for a driver and setup dhcp itself, which to my mind shows that the card is fine, as I managed to download the entire base package with it.  If I could find out what the setup program does to get it working, it might help too.

Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. Please forgive how vague this post is, I don't have the machine in front of me right this instant.

Re: Network adapter not working

I did some research and found that the drivers for Linux are in the Realtek site (very hidden though ) at this URL
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/dow … Down=false
Hope this helps.
