libthunar and exo_mount

Hello!!  I'm Italian user.. sorry in advance for my English..

i have this problem.. I upgrade today to xfce4.4.1.. I change sudoers, I remove my config file and I do anything that I found in this forum relating to Xfce's update..
when I try to execute thunar, the PC return:

[ale@isspro ~]$ thunar
thunar: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libthunar-vfs-1.so.2: undefined symbol: exo_mount_point_free

another problem is my screen.. is black!!
i try to set my wallpaper but when I click close, the configurations are reset..

another problem (ehehe) is XfceMenu..  if I try to add that in my bar, the button disappear with this error:

Gtk-CRITICAL  **:gtk_socket_get_id: assertion 'GTK_WIDGET_ANCHORED (socket)' failed.
CRITICAL **:An item was unexpectedly removed: "Menu Xfce".

thanks in advance to who will help me!!

Re: libthunar and exo_mount

I know nothing about your 1st problem, but about the 2nd problem:

I guess that you did not make your xfdesktop running,
while I upgraded my xfce, I had a similar situation.

so, 1st, check if xfdesktop is running.
and check if your network is setup correctly, especially the loop device (lo 127.0.0.1),
because it seems to need this (I don't know why)

or you can open a terminal and manually execute xfdesktop to see the output,
if nothing strange, try use "strace" to track where it stucks.

Re: libthunar and exo_mount

After I read your post again, I believe that is the problem of the loop device.

Are you using /etc/rc.d/adsl to setup your network?
you need both "network" (to setup loop device) and "adsl" in the variable DAEMONS in your rc.conf.

check it out,

Re: libthunar and exo_mount

xfdesktop is no running, unfortunately..
when I try to execute xfdesktop in my terminal, it returns:

xfdesktop: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libthunar-vfs-1.so.2: undefined symbol: exo_mount_point_free

the same error of thunar!!

the loop device is correctly configured..

127.0.0.1               localhost.localdomain   isspro

where 'isspro' is name of my machine.

I don't use the adsl daemon.. Internet is work with Ethernet and it is on the eth0 device..
In my rc.conf there is only network.. is a problem?  (the file called 'adsl' is not present)

i have a suspicion that this error is a bug.. or not? big_smile big_smile

thank you to the help and your patience

(sorry for my english!! sigh!! sad

Re: libthunar and exo_mount

mmh.. i didn't have hal and fam in my rc.conf..
I add they and I reboot my pc.. after reboot, xfdesktop and thunar returns always the same error (exo_mount..)

why this error happens only in my pc??
if I don't solve this problem, I will downgrade Xfce to 4.4 and I will wait to 4.5 big_smile big_smile

thanks for support!!
