Hello, i know that systemsounds go in /usr/share/sounds but how do i tell xfce to use the sound themes in that folder?
i copied this http://xfce-look.org/content/show.php/% … tent=12584 sound theme to that folder but i get no sounds
How do fix this?

Well, you would need a few things:
1st) an editor (like mousepad)
2nd) the xfce source-code
3rd) a little imagination
4th) a compiler
5th) a web-browser
6th) something to convince the xfce dev's to apply your patch. (you might need to move the world for this kind of patch)
The reason for this, event-sounds are not supported, the theme you want to install is designed for KDE.

But why then is there a whole section of systemsounds at xfce-look.org?
Also I've read through some posts from people in this forum that they had working event-sounds, only there were no instructions on how to do it myself in any of them.

Some searching around on the web and the xfce repository led me to an application named 'xfsound' which existed during the days of xfce3 and has been discontinued since.
And as far as xfce-look goes, they must have mixed things up.

Hmmm, that's crap! So basicly no event-sounds in xfce huh?

No, not for xfce4.0, 4.2 or 4.4
