A quick question, since my laptop is setup with the 0.7.2 iso, I have to ask if fork bombing as a normal user is still a risk in archlinux default install?

Check whether you have nproc limit set in /etc/security/limits.conf.

I fixed this before I posted, so I don't suffer from it, my question is if the default settings in the latest install iso handles it?

Why not forkbomb a machine of yours to answer that question? It's easy for someone to say yes or no, but you'll never know for sure until you hammer on things. This particular nugget of truth can be applied to nearly any question about security or integrity of a system, and forkbombability is pretty easy to check for.

He's asking if the default setting in Arch's pkg for /etc/security/limits.conf prevents forkbombing - it's a pretty simple question if you read it.

There are no nproc limits set in default limits.conf.

Thanks, that answers my question.

Yeah. Sorry for offering hardening advice in a conf file thread.
