gensplash mng support

hi all i'm playing around with gensplash and i would like to know if there is a way to enable gensplash support (i.e. silent mode) on shutdown/reboot? and i would also like to know if gensplash supports animations with mng files? Thanks in advance

EDIT: Ok after searching a little bit just for the ones who want to try their luck with gensplash i found this http://gentoo-wiki.com/TIP_Design_your_ … fer_Splash but still can't seem to be able to use mngs
