Arch site improvements

- There should be the e-mail address of the mantainers on the packages list pages: sometimes I'd want to contact the mantainer of a package and *damn* I can't find a way to do that.

- There should be a way to unflag packages flagged as out-of-date (nobody is perfect: I just marked as out-of-date the 97.55 version of nvidia drivers because I didn't see the 100.x series was BETA - Yes I know... me BAD BAD man... however nVidia site wasn't very clear on this point - and *damn* I can't contact the mantainers of the nvidia packages because there isn't any e-mail address on the package list).

- There should be an unified auth system for packages flagging (instead of the e-mail address request), forums, wiki, bug tracker, AUR etc.

- ... (ideas?)

Re: Arch site improvements

1.) If you log in, you can see the maintainer's email address by clicking on their name on the package details page.  This is only available if you log in, I assume for security purposes and spam prevention.

2.) Also if you're logged in, there is a button on the package listing page that says "Unflag Out-of-date" in the row of buttons above the actual package listings.

3.) A unified authentication system for all Arch-related sites has been discussed and is one of the long-term goals for the devs, IIRC

Interesting. I would love to see that happen.

Are there developers that focus entirely on web development, or are the web features a side project along with Arch?

If I log in where?

To the AUR...ahhh...unless you're referring to regular packages, in which case I don't think there is a way to unflag packages easily.  As far as contacting the maintainer for a regular package, you can look at the PKGBUILD in CVS and look at the top for the maintainer tag.  Sorry if I was confused, I assumed AUR since this was posted in the "Forum, Wiki, & AUR Discussion" forum.

Re: Arch site improvements

I think we need a cleaner design in general, and a more organized Wiki.

Re: Arch site improvements

the wiki is pretty organised imho.

anyway, as for accidentally marking official packages out of date, the maintainer of the package is able to unflag it.

Re: Arch site improvements

IMHO it would be time to fix the CVS link for testing packages. There is a bug for that in Flyspray, but it's still not fixed...
