'Sluggish inefficient Firefox window resizing' issue

Whenever I try to resize a firefox window, by using the resize caret, or by r-click hold and moving the mouse (I am using fluxbox), the window resizes really sluggish, in a seemingly inefficient way, also does it resize to the incorrect dimensions. It is inefficient because when moving the mouse for about three seconds, the window resizes during a period of eight seconds or more. I have an AMD 2.4 Ghz cpu, 1.5 Gig RAM, nVidia Geforce 6800 128 MB, if you were wondering, so it's not a hardware issue.

After releasing the mouse-button, if you would move the mouse-pointer over the resize caret, the window starts to resize again, in the sluggish inefficient way mentioned earlier.

This occurs in with fluxbox v1.03rc and any fluxbox-svn after v1.03rc in combiation with Firefox 1.5.x till 2.0.0.1. I also have the near 100% CPU load issue with the aMule gui, and there are no issues with qt/kde apps, so I am suspecting there is an issue with the combination of Arch's GTK+ and fluxbox.
Does anyone have the same issue?
