xscreensavers and mergedFB

Just installed Arch on my laptop a few weeks ago and love it.  I am coming from the Gentoo world (which I still love) but it is nice to have bleeding edge system with out all the compiling.  Any way on to my issue.

I am running XFCE4 and the opensource ati drivers (r300) with dual monitors (laptop and external) everything is working great except the screensavers.  With my old setup using the fglrx drivers and KDE the screen saver would go back and forth between the monitors just like every other application but now with the mergedFB and the open source drivers the screen savers run on each monitor independent of each other and the contents of the screensaver stay on that monitor.  This is just an issue with xscreensavers because I can drag apps from one monitor to the other with no problems

My question is: is this normal with mergedFB or how can i fix it. 

I know this is a petty issue but this is my work system and i work in an all windows environment and its fun to have people stop and ask about my cool screen saver and ask where they can get it and I get to tell them that it Linux not that windows crap. 

Let me know what logs or config files you want to see
