I would like to ask anybody knows a simple (and preferably slim) layout engine. GUI tool kits are a kind of overkill for the job I want to do (elementary visualization and user interaction), besides that it's not exactly layout engine, and html + javascript (for a web based interface) is not really nice too- at least depending on a browser is not really nice, despite it is somewhat versatile. Both go for XUL. So I wondered if there is a shorter and simpler path to heaven My searches did not returned anything useful until now.
I suppose I want too much and I finally will go back to a web interface, but it's worth asking.
Under "layout engine" I understand something that draws a (interactive) user interface that is described somehow (like html, etc). Interaction is optional, actually since it can be done outside the scope of visualization (only keyboard).
Thanks in advance for your answers.
If everything else fails, read the manual.
