Radeon 7000, Beryl corruption

Running GNOME 2.18, on kernel 2.6.17. DRI enabled, everything working fine, Beryl works as long as I tell it to 'copy' not 'texture something something'.
However, although the minimizing and moving effects are cool, there is graphics corruption in the menus. I right click, there's a popup, the text looks great, and when I mouseover, the text becomes garbled horizontal streaks of black.

Is there a solution to this problem? Here's part of my Xorg.conf - I disabled PageFlip because man radeon said it might corrupt stuff... actually it didn't change a thing. It's still corrupted.

    # Insert Clocks lines here if appropriate
