Logitech media remote - possible to get working?

xev doesn't show any output when pressing any of the keys on my logitech media remote... it came in a bundle with my media keyboard, for which I've got all the multimedia keys working great thanks to the author of the Lineak Wiki guide. It'd be nice to have the remote work too though, for controlling volume etc.

Has anyone else got a media remote working, even though xev showed no response?
