Powersave Problem

I have a problem using the powersave package.

When I do a suspend, it appears to work as it should.  That is, it goes to sleep and when I hit a key it wakes up.  Magic!  The problem is after it wakes up, I have no network.  If I do an 'ifconfig' my eth0 is gone.

Anyone know how I can fix this?  It is driving me crazy.

Re: Powersave Problem

Hi,

maybe you have problem with your suspend (bios or something else), you can try unload modules for your ethernet card or ifconfig ethX down and after suspend load it back. Maybe this workaround will work.

Re: Powersave Problem

I have the same - in my case the thing is that the wireless driver (ath_pci) is blacklisted - it needs to be unloaded for suspend2 to work. On resume, it gets loaded back but the network connection is of course gone. I gave up on this and just made an alias for the command "/etc/rc.d/network restart", which kicks it up back.

I'm not sure if it's the same in your case, or you actually have a problem with the kernel module (y'know, "lsmod" before and after suspending is your friend).
