KDM problem on startup

So couple of weeks ago I noted that KDM doesn't start automatically anymore when starting computer. My screen just blinks couple of times and then goes to textmode. KDM daemon is running and after "sudo /etc/rc.d/kdm restart" everything is just fine so I'm out of knowledge now. I haven't changed my xorg.conf when it started to do this. Also, kernel version doesn't matter what I'm tested.

Any help would be nice! Thanks

Can you please post the contain of Xorg's log file (/var/log/Xorg.0.log probably on your machine) just after it did not start (not after you restarted it manually) ?
Also can you indicate if you use an external driver than the one provided by your kernel (Nvidia drivers for exemple) for your video card ?

It's the basic drivers for my ATI 9500 card. So no fglrx. But I took those files and take a look for Xorg.0.log and I took also kdm.log and xorg.xonf just in case. Hope this will help!

Hi Harr1l,

Following your logs there is clearly a problem with the driver of your graphic card

You should have a look at this documentation :
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ATI

It seems your configuration for the opensource driver does not match the one specified in the documention,
in particular your are missing the module "drm" and you use the driver "ati" instead of "radeon".

I do not have an ATI Radeon myself, so I cannot try your configuration. Maybe someone with and ATI could help over here ?
