I just got around to upgrading my machine to the new /usr based Gnome and XFCE. Now, when GDM starts I get the error shown in this screenshot -- http://img136.imageshack.us/my.php?imag … estpn0.png. I've removed GDM and reinstalled it to no avail. Any suggestions as to how to fix this problem? I would like to have my themed GDM back.

I was having this same problem. I can't remember what I did to solve it... Maybe it was the uninstallation of uim and scim-anthy...

Make sure your themes are moved over to /usr/share/gdm/themes.
mv /opt/gnome/share/gdm/themes/* /usr/share/gdm/themes/*
I think this was the main thing but I also forced a reinstall of gdm and then restarted. The restarting was accidental (telinit 0 ) but that might have also played some role.
Good luck.

I also have to delete
/etc/gdm/custom.conf

After a thorough purging of old GDM references, which I thought I had done, everything seems to be in working order. Thanks guys.
