I upgraded to 2.6.21.1-8 today.
After a reboot the speedstep_centrino module can't be loaded any more. It just says "No such device".
Since I want to use dynamic frequency scaling on my core2duo laptop, I have to get speedstep_centrino running.
Or is there another way to do this?

Hi,
As far as I know, the speedstep_centrino module has been merged into the acpi_cpufreq module, so you should use that one from now on.

I'm using kernel 2.6.21-8 and speedstep_centrino is loaded here just fine. This is on an ibm thinkpad T40p, pentium M processor. I have the module located at
/lib/modules/2.6.21-ARCH/kernel/arch/i386/kernel/cpu/cpufreq/speedstep-centrino.ko

Thanks, I loaded acpi_cpufreq and everything works fine.
@PeteMo
First I thought the module was missing, but I located the module in the directory you mentioned, just replace i386 with x86_64.
The problem is, that the module won't load. Maybe there's now a problem with core 2 duo processors.

speedstep_centrino is deprecated and will be removed in the next future. acpi_cpufreq should fully replace its functionalities
