[xfce4] Can't connect to wastebasket service

I've just installed Arch linux and so far i've been very happy with it, but there's one annoying problem that I can't solve.

When refreshing the desktop using the F5 key I get the following error

xfce_desktop.png

As you can see Thunar is installed (via Pacman) and works fine.

How do I solve this? smile

Hi

How do you start Xfce?
What exactly do you mean with refreshing the desktop?

Xfce starts after I login with slim.
My .xinitrc says: exec xfce4-session.

By refreshing the desktop I mean, clicking on the desktop and pressing F5, e.g. to refresh the icons on the desktop.

Re: [xfce4] Can't connect to wastebasket service

Try this instead of your .xinitrc entry

exec dbus-launch --exit-with-session xfce4-session

BTW: Have you started dbus at all?

Thanks, "exec dbus-launch" did the trick.
